MANAGING DIRECTOR - MR. ROHAN JAYARATNAM, LL.B (Hons) Wales

The Managing Director, Mr. Rohan Jayaratnam, is no stranger to the field of Receivables Management or Credit Management. He possesses a wealth of experience from within the General Insurance Industry and also in Receivables Management.

Having successfully completing his formal training in Law from Wales, U.K., on his return from university, he immediately gained employment with a leading General Insurance Company in the company’s headquarters located in Kuala Lumpur.  Here he served, for 5 years, in various departments, such as the Claims Department and Underwriting Department, within the organization and gained significant and valuable knowledge and experience understanding the mechanics of the General Insurance industry.

An opportunity to venture into the corporate world of Credit Management arose to play a key role in establishing and managing the operations of an organization set up to  specialize in receivables management or credit recoveries in Malaysia. The newly formed start-up firm was a product of a Malaysia - Australia Joint Venture which specialized in Debt Recovery. Here he was responsible in setting up the basic operations of the company and thereafter playing a crucial role in maximizing output or recoveries, which resulted in steady and exceptional growth of the organization. The firm’s key projects became under his guidance and supervision while he also played an important role in setting up 2 branches in Penang and Johor. He managed the overall operations of the company for a period of 7 years before leaving and establishing Newvest Recoveries in 2005.

Mr. Rohan Jayaratnam possesses a wealth of combined experience both in Insurance Recoveries and Professional Debt Recovery Management.
